Man Dies in Iron Co. UTV Crash

The Iron County Sheriff's Department says a 90-year-old Mercer man died after his UTV collided with a car on Monday afternoon.

The crash happened in the Town of Mercer at 4:22 p.m. Sheriff Tony Furyk says the UTV was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 51 from trail 10, near Old Pioneer Road, when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.

The UTV driver died at the scene of the crash. His name has not yet been released because family members are still being notified.

Besides the sheriff's department, Mercer Ambulance, Mercer Fire Department, and the Iron County Coroner also responded to the scene.
