According to the East Range Developmental Achievement Center, Lundgren's has hired people with disabilities since the 1980s, and currently they employ 9 people to clean in the evenings. Robin Harkonen, the Exec. Director of ERDAC, said, "Lee Lundgren was a pioneer in seeing the value of hiring people with disabilities. And the family continues that legacy."

There was a short ceremony at the dealership on Thursday morning. The Lundgren family humbly accepted the award.

Laura Hughes, the general manager, said, "This is a great honor. I'm the fourth-generation Lundgren, and I'm very proud to accept this on behalf of everyone at Lundgren's, the staff and the ERDAC people who work for us. We have a wonderful relationship with them."

Lundgren's is one of the oldest businesses in Eveleth. Mayor Bob Vlaisavljevich said he's proud to call them part of his community.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
