The group asked people to donate spare change they have from places like under their couch cushions, car seats, and purses.

Money raised will go directly towards a new emergency program. "The loft will be an emergency shelter for youths ages 15 to 19." Marketing Officer for Life House Margie Nelson said. "Right now in the community, there is lack of beds for that particular age group."

The loft is expected to be completed in October. It will be located at the same building on First Street in Duluth.

Life House Duluth accepts donations every day of the week. Click here to access their online website.
