Fire Destroys Restaurant in Small Itasca Co. Town

A gathering spot in the small Itasca County community of Squaw Lake was destroyed by fire early Friday.

The Itasca County Sheriff's Office says The Hill Bar & Restaurant on Highway 46 was fully engulfed when local firefighters arrived on the scene. The business is considered a total loss.

There was no word of any injuries.

The State Fire Marshal's office is helping the sheriff's office in the investigation into the fire's cause.

The Squaw Lake Fire Department was assisted by fire departments from Deer River, Northome, and Blackduck.
