Inter City Oil launched a new service on Monday, pumping gas for its customers for free. Gordie Runquist, manager at the ICO station on the corner of London Road and 21st Street said the new offering is a way to better serve customers.

A 36-year gas station employee says he remembers a generation ago when the unique service used to be offered at most every gas station.

As the first cars rolled in, some customers also remembered the old full service stations. As, Runquist filled up her truck, Marian Green of Duluth said it brought back good memories.

"Oh yeah it's great," Green reminisced. "That's back when kids didn't have seat belts and kids could lay in the back window of the car and all that fun stuff. "I'm glad to see service means something to somebody again and they're bringing it back. I think it's great. I'll be back more often."

ICO said they'll be pumping gas from noon to three on all weekdays at the 2030 London Road location, and they'll keep the service for as long as there's demand.
