According to a statement issued Thursday, the person was found dead in a residence in the 600 block of North 1st Avenue East on Tuesday afternoon. Police responded to the scene due to the person's age and lack of medical history.

Police said the death does not appear to be suspicious. The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an autopsy.

Police did not release the gender or age of the person who died, or say if the person lived at the residence where he or she was found dead.

While on the scene, officers noticed items that appeared to be connected to Monday's robbery of the CVS store at Superior Street and 12th Avenue East. Investigators obtained a search warrant and determined that the deceased individual was the suspect in the robbery.

Police said they are not seeking any other suspects in the robbery.
