Man Drowns in Gogebic County

A man from Grand Rapids, Michigan drowned on Sunday evening in Gogebic County.

The sheriff's office said they were notified of the incident around 7:30pm. 

It happened on East Bear Lake in Watersmeet Township.

According to the sheriff's departemnt, a group of campers were swimming near a canoe landing. All but one were out of the water and near a campsite when they discovered they couldn't see the man any longer.

Multiple agencies began searching, and the search continued Monday morning.

The victim, 24-year-old Sang-Mook Yoon, was recovered around 10am Monday morning.
