Hibbing Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

A Hibbing man has died following a motorcycle crash Tuesday on Highway 37 and County Road 7.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 60-year-old Donald Omar Hilligoss was driving a motorcycle that crashed into a vehicle around 2 p.m.

Authorities say Hilligoss was traveling westbound on Highway 37 when a Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 19-year-old woman from Eveleth turned in front of the motorcycle. The Hyundai Sonata was traveling eastbound on Highway 37 and took a left turn onto County Road 7, turning in front of the motorcycle.

Hilligoss was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth and later passed away. The State Patrol says he was not wearing a helmet.

The Hibbing Daily Tribune reports Hilligoss was a car dealer at Ranger GM in Hibbing, Ford of Hibbing, Grand Rapids GM and Mike Motors of Minnesota.
