A 21-year-old man is in custody after allegedly breaking into a post office and causing damage to vehicles.

According to the Gilbert Police Department, there is several thousand dollars worth of damage at the post office in Biwabik. Chief Ty Techar said there is also several thousand dollars worth of damage to vehicles.

They have taken the suspect into custody. Sunday evening, they were still investigating the case, including working on search warrants.

Techar added they will be working with the federal authorities, since some mail was stolen.
