The Carlton County Historical Society celebrated the 100 years of Finnish independence as dozens gathered at its museum in Cloquet, Wednesday.
Attendees had a chance to enjoy a presentation about the folklore of Finland and the publication of the Kalevala, which lead to the nation's independence on December 6th, 1917.
Victor John Faith, who was in attendance says, "I think it's marvelous, anytime you can see this kind of exchange of cultures, especially in a smallish community. It's just very exciting to see people get together and express that cultural heritage."
