The goal of the event was to get the public's feedback about how the city of Duluth can improve Canal Park over the next 25 years.

"We want to come up with ways how we want to grow, where we want to grow, and how we want to engage residents and tourists," said Emily Larson, Duluth mayor.

The public was invited to answer questions about how they get to Canal Park, transportation when they're there, and what people do in Canal Park.

This is where we're gathering your ideas. What you want to see in Canal Park, and what makes you feel more welcome and comfortable down here," said Elissa Hansen, Duluth City Council member.

There was also a bounce for kids and food being offered. The Duluth Fire Department was on hand for an educational demonstration about how to extinguish a grease fire as well.

The event started at 4:00 and ended at 7:00.
