The manufacturer refers to the design of the splash pad as "Thunder Canyon." It features two bays, one designed for toddlers and one for older children.

"We are thrilled to be able to open the new Splash Pad in North End Park," said Councillor Andrew Foulds in a news release. "It’s wonderfully-designed, and features something for everyone looking to keep cool during the hot summer months."

The splash pad will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time this summer. The water activators are designed to shut off after a set period of inactivity to conserve water.

North End Park is on Huron Avenue.

The splash pad is the fourth in Thunder Bay, which also has several pools. A complete list is available at www.thunderbay.ca/Living/recreation_and_parks/Facilities/Pools__Splash_Pads__Beaches/Seasonal_Swimming_Facilities.htm.
