The West Duluth Business and Civic Club held a luncheon in their honor at Mr. D's Bar and Grill.

The president of the club said they set out with a goal a year ago to fill empty businesses in West Duluth.  The new businesses helped them achieve their goal.

"A small business owner is a unique person that has to have a lot of drive and courage and we just really want to thank them for their involvement in the West Duluth area," Susan Coen, the President of the West Duluth Business and Civic Club.

The businesses include the Zenith Bookstore, Duluth Antique Marketplace, Shipshape Canvas, The Rambler, Trophy Cafe, and Bailey Builds.

There are more vacant lots in the area they hope to fill up in the future.
