Maddie was surrounded by her family and friends at the Bluestone Flats on Sunday celebrating her wish.

She says she wants to meet Leah Remini because watching her would help keep her mind off the illness she was fighting. Her family says she would always watch Remini on King of Queens.

"It kind of takes her mind off of being in pain or being sick," said Candace Jackson, Maddie's mother.

Robert Galovich, Maddie's father, says it's important for Maddie to be able to "reach for things she likes to do."

Maddie's family says they will also visit the Empire State Building and a wax museum while they are in New York.

The Galovich family would like to thank Make-A-Wish for their efforts to provide wishes for kids.

"It's truly a gift," said Jackson.
