The books will help raise money for families to pay for children's medical expenses that are not covered by a commercial health insurance plan.

Ellie says she is just happy to be able to help those in need.

"I think it's pretty nice because these families, they don't really have a lot of money because they keep having to go to the hospitals for the children, and I think it's really nice to do this for them," said Ellie.

She was one of hundreds of children around the nation who submitted material for the series of joke books.

The joke that got accepted for publication was, "Why do doctors stay calm? Because they have a lot of patients."
