ABC Confirms 'Roseanne' Revival

ABC confirmed Tuesday that it will bring back "Roseanne" in 2018.

The eight-episode reboot will feature seven members of the original series. Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Michael Fishman, and Lecy Goranson will all star in their original roles.

Absent from the announced cast list is Johnny Galecki, who is now starring on CBS' "The Big Bang Theory."

ABC said the new "Roseanne" will continue to show the Conner family dealing with the economic challenges of living paycheck to paycheck. The series won a Peabody Award and a Golden Globe Award for best television series in its original nine-season run.

"Roseanne" is the latest in a series of rebooted shows from the 1980's and 1990's.
