On Wednesday afternoon, President Larry Goodwin announced that he will retire next year. Goodwin joined St. Scholastica in 1987 and became president a little over a decade later. Enrollment has doubled during his time as president.

Goodwin says retirement from such a special community is difficult.

"The sisters, the faculty, the staff, the students, anybody that's here for a period of time feels that," Goodwin said. "It's a real community of people that share a mission and a vision and a set of values, and i'm going to miss that."

When he retires next June Goodwin will be the longest-serving president in St. Scholastica history.
