Longest-Serving President at CSS Announces Retirement

The College of St. Scholastica's longtime leader says it's almost time for him to retire.

On Wednesday afternoon, President Larry Goodwin announced that he will retire next year. Goodwin joined St. Scholastica in 1987 and became president a little over a decade later. Enrollment has doubled during his time as president. 

Goodwin says retirement from such a special community is difficult.

"The sisters, the faculty, the staff, the students, anybody that's here for a period of time feels that," Goodwin said. "It's a real community of people that share a mission and a vision and a set of values, and i'm going to miss that."

When he retires next June Goodwin will be the longest-serving president in St. Scholastica history.
