The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has identified the woman struck and killed by a train Monday.

59 yr old Deborah Otier, Solon Springs, was killed when she was struck by a train while walking with her dog in downtown Solon Springs Monday evening.

It happened in Solon Springs at the County Road A intersection with the CN tracks around 6:15 p.m.  The sheriff's office says the 59-year-old woman, who was walking her dog and had just left a grocery store, apparently walked around lowered railroad stop arms and was struck by a train.  The office said lights and bells at the crossing were active.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office and the CN Railroad Police are also investigating.
