Missouri Fugitive Arrested in Cloquet for Child Sex Abuse Charges

Cloquet Police have arrested a Missouri fugitive wanted on dozens of child sex abuse-related charges.

Cloquet Police said the Andrew County Sheriff's Office in Missouri contacted them on Wednesday regarding a fugitive they believed may be in Cloquet. They identified an address where the suspect may be residing, close to Pinehurst Park. Police said they located him walking nearby on Thursday at about 8 a.m.

Forty-one-year-old James Michael Swett was taken into custody for his outstanding warrants and taken to the Carlton County Jail. He is being held there pending extradition back to Missouri.

Cloquet Police said Swett is wanted in Missouri for 50 felony charges including child molestation and sex abuse.
