Cirrus Aircraft is expanding its international sales network to India.

Cirrus India, located in New Delhi, officially joined the company's authorized sales team in July. Cirrus announced the expansion on its website.

People hearing the news may worry that it means sending jobs overseas, but Executive Vice President of Sales Todd Simmons told Eyewitness News that's not the case.

"That fear is really misguided because this is about our building airplanes here and selling them there," he said. "What that means is we build more things and they are bought around the world and those dollars flow back into the country. In this case, they flow back into Minnesota, and they flow particularly into Duluth."

Simmons said this is the beginning of establishing Cirrus in an important emerging market for aviation.
