Updated: Names in Fatal Bike Accident Released

A 6-year-old Duluth boy died after he was hit by a van. while crossing the street on his bicycle Saturday afternoon.

His name has been released. It is Daniel Joseph Borisovich Nektalov.

Duluth Police responded to the 400 block of Clark Court in Duluth at 3:43 p.m.

Initial investigation revealed a 45-year-old female Duluth resident was driving a van when she struck the Nektalov, who was crossing the street on his bike, according to Duluth Police. 

Police say the woman, who has been identified as Bridgette Marie Tyson, did not see the boy until she struck him.

She had no signs of impairment.

This is still an active investigation, according to police.
