Northlanders rallied together on Friday at the Art Von Little League Tournament to raise money for Merissa Edwards' fight against Leukemia.
There was a sea of orange at the diamonds as they sold T-shirts in her honor. They also sold bracelets, baked goods, and had a radar throwing contest where they sold balls for a buck a piece.
Marissa is battling a rare and aggressive form of Leukemia. She was diagnosed about a month ago, yet through it all, she is still thinking of how her fight could help others.
"I don't think about it as something for me," said Merissa Edwards. "It's something to help someone else."
"The more people who will take the test in Merissa's honor, the more chances you can help someone around the world to help save their life," said Dennis Edwards.
The fundraiser continues on Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

No Injuries in Early Morning Esko Structure Fire
Deputies say there were no injuries in an early morning structure fire in Esko Thursday. Crews responded to the 200 block of Nelson Road around 4:30 a.m. Deputies said the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
