Drivers in the Twin Ports will soon see a curbside fundraiser next week.
Fill the Boot kicks off again. The Duluth and Superior Fire Departments are raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
It's the 60th anniversary of the event nationwide and here in the Twin Ports firefighters raise about $4,000 an hour.
"It's incredible the amount of donations we get from the community," Duluth Firefighter Dylan Hendrickson said. "We get everything from a child throwing a penny in the boot to some people writing checks for a lot of money."
All the money raised stays local and helps fund research and treatment in the Northland.
The Duluth Fire Department will be out August 5 through 7 from 3 to 6 p.m. and the Superior Fire Department will be out August 6 through 8 at the same times.
You'll find Duluth firefighters at the following intersections:
Woodland and Arrowhead, Central Entrance and Arlington, Grand and Central and Lake and Canal Park Drive.
You'll find Superior firefighters at the following intersections:
Belknap and Tower. N. 37th and Tower and E. 2nd and 22nd Ave E.
