A Douglas County judge has taken the trial off the court calendar for the Superior woman involved in a controversial January arrest.

The trial for Natasha Lancour was set for July 22, but during a status conference Thursday, the trial was removed.

Lancour is charged with disorderly conduct. She was arrested by Superior Police Officer George Gothner outside Keyport Lounge in early January. The arrest was caught on dash cam video.

Douglas County District Attorney Dan Blank said both sides are waiting on the separate investigation into whether Gothner used excessive force.

"I think there is sort of a mental block on both sides. We want some answers on the other part of the investigation before we make final decisions on this case. I know it's vague and uncertain, we don't know for sure where that is going yet. There has not been a decision," he said.

Lancour's defense attorney, Rick Gondik, said they expected Gothner's investigation to be wrapped up already, but they realize the investigation must be thorough.

"From the defense perspective the focus should not be on my client, the focus should be on the officer and adjourning this would put the focus back where it properly belongs," he said.

Lancour's next court date is a status conference set for October 31.
