A new report released on Wednesday is taking a comprehensive look at the quality of rivers and streams in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) released the report. They looked at water monitoring surveys from as far back as 1995, in an effort to study the condition of rivers and streams across the state.

MPCA will use the new information as they develop watershed restoration and protection strategies. They said overall the health ranges from very good in the northeast region of the state, to poorer in the southwest.

The full report is available online.
