Old items get new life in Superior and it all raised money for a good cause.

The ReStore for Habitat for Humanity is a shop that sells new, used and re-purposed building materials. The Art-tastic Social Saturday showcased items local people decorated and made into art. A window turned into an end table and a cabinet became a bench.

"They donate their time and talent," ReStore Manager Teresa Backes said. "The pieces come back for a silent auction with all the proceeds going back into Habitat."

Backes said they raised $800 on Saturday. She said the items are not only nice for the pocketbook, but are also environmentally friendly.
