77-year-old Solon Springs Man Killed in Crash

Authorities have identified the Solon Springs man killed in an two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon as 77-year-old Raymond A. Cload. 

The accident happened at the intersection of County Road Z and County Road E in the South Range area of the Town of Parkland around 2:30 p.m.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle driven by Cload was eastbound on County Road Z when it failed to yield to a southbound Duluth/Superior Redimix cement truck. Cload was struck on the driver's side. Authorities say Cload was killed instantly.

The driver of the cement truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
