Wednesday marked opening night for the 5th Annual Duluth Superior Film Festival. The local film, music, and art extravaganza kicked off at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth with a screening of Expedition to the End of the World.

Over the next few days the festival will spread to several venues, including the Zeitgeist Arts Building, PROVE Gallery, and the Glensheen Mansion.

“We’ve got lots of great screenings over the course of the weekend,” festival director Richard Hansen said. “Most of the films will be at Zinema and Teatro Zuccone in the Zeitgieist Arts Building. We'll have receptions and parties, we'll even be doing some music videos and shorts at the PROVE gallery. One of the music videos we have is actually a world premiere of the new Trampled by Turtles music video.”

Music videos screenings start Friday at 8:30 at the Prove, 21 N Lake Ave.

All film screenings during the festival are free.
