A new Park Point hotel opening this weekend will honor its heritage.

The Park Point Marina Inn sits on the site of the old Duluth Boat Club.

The three-story, 68-room hotel has a lot of their old artwork on display, including a mural in the bar.

The general manager says they wanted to keep the historic charm alive.

"Duluth is built on history, and I think history is really important, as far as to preserve for people to have a complete understanding as to what was here what the grandeur of this area was," David Riddle said Wednesday.

The hotel is 50 feet from the water with views of the Harbor, there is also six boat slips.

Riddle says three weekends are already sold out.
