ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Members of the military, veterans and their immediate families could find life in Minnesota a little easier under a new state law.

The legislation signed this week by Gov. Mark Dayton does two things.

It grants temporary state licenses in their respective professions to service personnel, veterans and their spouses who move to Minnesota.

Lt. Gov. Yvonne Prettner Solon said those honorably discharged and their husbands and wives will be eligible to work in their chosen fields while they pursue the certification requirements.

Second, out-of-state current and former members of the military and their spouses and dependents who want to attend school in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System can now get-in-state tuition rates.
