A new downtown Duluth low-income apartment building is making progress. And Churches United in Ministry is asking for you to lend a helping hand.

The Steve O'Neil Apartments, named after the late St. Louis County commissioner, is set to provide housing for more than 100 people before the end of the year.  However, many of these families are coming off the streets and have nothing to put into those apartments.

So chum is hoping the community will pull together to help our neighbors.

"We have 50 families who are members of our greater family and we don't know who they are," said Lee Stewart, executive director of CHUM. "But we're going to make sure that when they move in to their new homes, they've got a great place to live. kind of a first step towards stabIlity and welcome."

CHUM has set up an online "shop" where you can buy different items for the apartments.
