It is no secret that this long winter has been brutal on Northland roads. On Monday night, the City of Duluth added more money to their war chest to battle the pothole plague.

The Duluth City Council approved an ordinance that adds $400,000 from the general fund to the maintenance operations budget.

According to the amendment's description, the maintenance budget had been budgeted for an average winter. Due to the excessive snow and cold, the city is already seeing above-average street damage.
