A new act is coming to the Duluth Airshow late this summer. President Ryan Kern announced Friday afternoon that the US Airforce will be adding a special "Heritage Flight" to the acts this August 23-24.

"The USAF Heritage Flight is a big deal and it gives the US Airforce a chance to bridge the gap between aircraft of the 1940s to the modern day, state of the art F-22 Raptor," Kern said. "The Heritage Flight will feature the "P-38 Lightning and a P-47 Thunderbolt which Duluth has never seen for an airshow."

NASA has also agreed to play a role in this year's show. They will bring educational and hands on exhibits complete with space shuttle equipment and other space artifacts.

Kern said "we are very fortunate that Congressman Richard Nolan stepped in to help secure these assets for us...we were originally told that NASA would most likely not be supporting the show, and Congressman Nolan was instrumental in convincing NASA that Duluth was a worthy recipient of these educational tools and exhibits."
