Slowly but surely, we are starting to see more shipping action on the Great Lakes.

Several vessels came in very early Monday morning, and more are expected to leave with the help of the Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw Tuesday morning.

According to the Duluth Port Authority, the cutter will be refueling for the trip back down to the Soo Locks with quite a few lakers.

The ice conditions are still difficult in many parts of the journey.
