UWS Gives Entrepreneurs Over 50 a Boost

Starting a business after retirement comes with a whole new set of challenges, but the University of Wisconsin Superior (UWS) wants to help those over 50 with a 'how-to' workshop April 16.

UW-Superior's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Center for Continuing Education present "Encore Entrepreneurship: Essentials for Starting a Business After 50" on Wednesday, April 16, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) Conference Center, 600 North 21st Street, Superior. 

The work shop is a great event for those 50 and over looking for new opportunities in retirement.  Participants will learn ways to get help starting a business, what the steps are to assess the viability of their business idea, options for financing and investment risk management, according to Juilanne Raymond, director, Wisconsin's SBDC at UWS.

Participants are encouraged to register online at uwsuper.edu or by phone at 715-394-8351.  There will be door prizes for the first 25 who register.  Registrations are requested, but walk-ins are welcome.  The cost of the workshop is $20.
