RELATED STORIES: Interview: The Band Perry
Thousands of country music fans filled the DECC on Saturday night, eager to see The Band Perry.
The trio of siblings has been here before. In 2011, they opened for Blake Shelton. But now, three years later, they are the headliner in their worldwide tour, "We Are Pioneers."
Fans were treated to the smash hit "Done," as the first song of the set. The performers were rocking out with big, bold moves and black costumes. And the fans loved it.
We sat down with the band before the show, in one of their dressing rooms.
"It actually feels like it was just yesterday (that we were here). It's amazing how quickly the years go by. It was a great winter show then. The cold weather is a good luck charm here," said Kimberly Perry, lead vocalist.
Duluth is just part of the U.S. leg of their tour. They've already been to Europe and Canada.
Her brother Reid told us that they love being on the road. "This is what we did before interviews and writing songs. It's where we feel most at home. We say home is wherever the tour bus is."
We asked if fans are the same everywhere. Kimberly said they are a little different.
"The Midwest is one of our very favorite regions. You have rambunctious country listeners, which we love! We do a sweaty rock and roll show. If we're not pouring sweat for an hour, we feel we didn't earn our paycheck. You guys come out and sing and dance."
Neil added, "The crazier the better!"
The brothers walked out to see the aerial lift bridge a little bit Saturday afternoon, but they didn't venture much further than that because of the cold.
