Police Searching for Vehicle From Friday Accident

Hermantown Police are looking for a driver who caused another vehicle to swerve into the ditch on Friday.

Police responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Miller Trunk Highway near Vaux Road just after 7 p.m. on Friday.

Officers found the driver, a 66-year-old man, had been headed north on Miller Trunk Highway when a maroon minivan ran the stop sign at Vaux Road. This caused the first man to swerve left to avoid a collision, Police said his car hit the heavy snow median, spun across the other lane and went into the ditch.

The maroon minivan continued south on Miller Trunk without stopping, according to police. Prior to this incident, police said another driver saw the same van driving erratically east on North Pike Lake Road, south on Midway Road, east on Martin Road and south on Vaux Road.

Anyone with information about the minivan is asked to contact the Hermantown Police Department.
