Created: 02/18/2014 9:02 AM WDIO.com

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says that 19-year-old Jessica Zapf stole a handgun from one home in rural Aurora early Monday morning. She then allegedly walked a mile down the road, and broke into another home.

Authorities say an elderly woman lived in the second home, and had no idea what had happened.

Authorities got the elderly woman out of the home safely, and then arrested Zapf, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Other charges are pending.
