An Aitkin County man was killed in a crash in Itasca County Saturday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the accident happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Highway 169 and Lakeview Drive. They said a car was headed north on Highway 169 when it went off the road and hit a snow bank near Lakeview Drive.

Troopers believe the driver, 60-year-old James E. Lee of Swatara, Minn., appeared to have a medical issue before the crash happened. They said he was brought to Grand Itasca Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
