Duluth police say they've discovered more than 50 pounds of marijuana in the home of a man shot early Monday morning.

According to Public Information Officer Jim Hansen, police responded to a residence on the 900 block of East 9th Street just after 1 o'clock.

Hansen said the 35-year-old victim claimed three male suspects wearing ski masks forced their way into residence. The man was shot in the left shoulder when he confronted them, police said. He was taken to a Duluth hospital and his condition is stable.

When investigators returned to the scene to execute a search warrant around 10:30 a.m., Hansen said they seized 56 pounds of marijuana and $12,000 cash. He said the marijuana has a street value of over $200,000.

If anyone has information about the crime, call the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Unit at 218-730-5050.
