Cloquet Police have uncovered a marijuana growing operation.

Police say they received numerous tips from the public about the grow operation in a house on the 100 block of 17th Street.  Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence Thursday evening and allegedly found that a large portion of the house had been converted into a marijuana growing operation.

About 130 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $80,000 were seized, police said.  Detectives seized the marijuana, some of which was packaged for sale, and dismantled equipment being used in the grow operation.

A 47-year-old Cloquet man was arrested at the house and is expected to face a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree.
