MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has granted another exploratory drilling license for a company looking to dig a huge iron mine near Mellen.

Gogebic Taconite drilled eight test holes in the Penokee Hills last year. The license for that project expires June 30. The company asked the DNR earlier this month for another license to drill 15 more holes.

The DNR granted the license Thursday.
