Minn. Fugitive Accused of Holding Ex-Girlfriend Hostage

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A local judge in Nevada is giving prosecutors more time to file charges against a Minnesota fugitive accused of holding his ex-girlfriend against her will for several months at a resort town motel.

Mesquite Justice of the Peace Ryan Toone set a Feb. 26 deadline for charges to be filed against 34-year-old Jason Edward Greniger.

Greniger is jailed in Las Vegas in the Mesquite kidnapping case and on a fugitive warrant issued last July in Grand Rapids, Minn., in a felony child punishment case.

Greniger has agreed to be transferred in custody to Minnesota if authorities seek his return. He hasn't been appointed an attorney.

Greniger was arrested Saturday after his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend, Sheena Herschbach, told police he used threats to hold her against her will for about six months.
