Ashland Mayor Won't Run for Re-Election

The mayor of Ashland says he won't run for re-election this spring.

Bill Whalen announced on Facebook Tuesday that he has decided to return to the private sector, and expressed his thanks for giving him the opportunity for the past four years.

Whalen posted "it has been a pleasure serving the citizens of Ashland and working with the hard-working, dedicated city employees."

A new mayor will be chosen in an April election.
