A West Duluth family experienced an outpouring of community support Sunday after a fire destroyed their home.

The Whites' house was a total loss after a fire back in October. They had no insurance. The family has three children ages 9 and under.

On Sunday, a benefit and silent auction at Mr. D's Bar & Grill gave them a head start to rebuild their lives. Aaron White said it's not all about the money, though.

"I guess I've got no expectations, I'm just grateful for any help we can get," he said. "What I was mainly concerned with was just looking forward to everybody coming out and getting a chance to thank everybody in person."

White said people attendance was steady at the spaghetti dinner. They were expecting about 100 total.
