Hwy. 53 Crash Kills 1, Injures 4

A central Minnesota man was killed and four people injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 53 Friday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

Daniel Bazoff, 31, of Rockford, Minn. died in the scene of the crash, which happened in the Town of Gordon just after 7 a.m.  The crash critically injured a 69-year-old man from Minong and also injured a 52-year-old man from Minong and a 46-year-old man from Windsor, Wis.

The four men were in a northbound SUV that collided with an eastbound truck at County Road Y.  The SUV left the road and rolled over.

The driver of the truck, a 58-year-old Gordon man, suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.

The sheriff's office and the Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating the crash.
