More than 1,000 people including family, friends, teammates, coworkers and many people touched by the life of Mandy Matula, came together Sunday to celebrate her life.

Her father, Wayne Matula said, "God allowed us to have the best of the best." He thanks the Eden Prairie Police Department, and everyone who helped search for Mandy when she was missing.

The service took place at Grace Church in Eden Prairie. The UMD softball team performed a dance in honor of their former pitcher.

Mandy's remains were found last month after she went missing in May. Her story grabbed public attention as family members, friends and community members joined in search efforts over the last six months.
