For about a week, Chester Bowl's chair #12 had been off the cable for maintenance. Thursday, it was missing.
Thom Storm with the Chester Bowl Improvement Club says it was disheartening to hear the chair was taken.
Storm said the chair had been off the cable while they were waiting for a part to fix the chair. He learned Thursday it was no longer there.
It's an older chair lift and Storm says they do not manufacture the double chairs anymore. To replace the chair it would cost the non-profit group $14,000.
"We are a little non-profit keeping the ski hill open and there's absolutely no way we can afford that [$14,000]. So we are just hoping that who ever took this [chair] has the goodness in their heart to bring it back," said Storm.
Storm said the chairs are extremely heavy so he suspects more than one person took the chair. He also said it would take a truck to transport the chair because of the size.
Storm and the non-profit ask whoever took the chair to return it to the Bowl. If anyone knows any information regarding the missing chair #12, contact the Chester Bowl Improvement Club at (218) 724-9832.
