One person was treated for smoke inhalation after an Eveleth house fire Friday night.
The Eveleth and Fayal Township Fire Departments responded to the fire at 804 Jones Street at 10:50 p.m. All but one of the occupants were able to get out of the three-story residence safely.
The occupant who remained in the house was taken to a hospital for treatment of possible smoke inhalation.
Eveleth Fire Chief Pete Makowski said the fire began in the basement and spread to all three floors of the house. The State Fire Marshal is helping to investigate the cause of the fire.
The Gilbert, Virginia, Biwabik Township, and Clinton fire departments were called in for mutual aid while the Mountain Iron Fire Department provided a Rapid Intervention Team.
