Five Arrests Made in Duluth Heroin Bust

Five people in Duluth were arrested for heroin-related crimes Wednesday.
According to Duluth Police, the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at 706 E 4th St.
Police say that they recovered a loaded .22 semi-automatic handgun, 10 grams of heroin packaged for sale, $4,244 in cash, and other drug paraphaneila from an apartment at that address.
Four people were subsequently arrested: 23-year-old Devon Freeman, 33-year-old Barbara Nicole Gilliam, 21-year-old Kendara Clifford Shivers, and 20-year-old Andriana Dalencia Norwood. According to police, all four are from Chicago.
Norwood is charged with 3rd Degree Possession of Heroin and Child Endangerment. Police say her 1-year-old child was present during the execution of the search warrant.
Shivers is charged with 2nd Degree Sale of Heroin. Freeman is charged with 3rd Degree Sale of Heroin.
Gilliam was arrested for a violation of her probation.
Police say they also made an arrest in a separate, but related, case. 41-year-old Malcom Antonio Johnson was allegedly found with 6 grams of heroin and a digital scale. Johnson faces a 2nd Degree Sale of Heroin charge.
